The Wayfinder returns! After years of waiting, Disney's animated sequel, Moana 2, is here! Originally planned as a Disney+ series, the project was retooled into a major theatrical event, reuniting audiences with their favorite Wayfinder and the demigod Maui. But does this billion-dollar sequel live up to the magic of the original?
The Voyage:
Set three years after her first adventure, Moana (Auli'i Cravalho) is now the leader of Motunui and a big sister to Simea (Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda). Everything changes when she receives a mysterious, urgent call from her wayfinding ancestors. This unexpected signal compels Moana to journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters to try and reconnect her people, whose islands have been isolated by an ancient curse. This mission pits her against Matangi, a mysterious new character, and even the formidable god of storms, Nalo. Of course, she'll need the help of the charismatic demigod Maui (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and a new, unlikely crew of seafarers to face this great challenge.
